Net Zero Community Center

We had an interesting design problem with this project where the views of the park were to the south as well as the south light which is the best for the photovoltaic panels. In order to allow the roof of the community center to open up to the south, we incorporated the solar panels into a bike shelter attached the to concrete retaining wall behind the center. Sustainable Design features: Exterior envelope super insulated well above 2015 code, very efficient Heat pump heating system, 100% LED lighting with occupancy and daylighting sensors, and heat recovery ventilation system. This project is currently under construction and should be complete by winter of 2017.
